Smurfit appointment

Smurfit Europe has announced the appointment of Mr John Coghlan as chief executive of Smurfit UK with effect from July 1st. He has worked with the Smurfit Group for 26 years and, from 1990 to 1997, he was divisional chief executive of the Smurfit Print and Carton Division (UK and Ireland). Prior to Mr Coghlan's appointment, Mr Pat Barrett, chief executive of Smurfit Europe, was acting chief executive of Smurfit UK.
