Statoil Ireland has appointed Mr Padraig Grimes and Mr Peter O'Donoghue to its board.

Mr David O'Riordan has been appointed editor of the Westmeath Examiner. He was previously editor of Business Contact, the magazine of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce.

Cable & Wireless has appointed Ms Michelle Thunder voice product manager. She previously worked for Eircom, specialising in product management of call centre systems and applications.

Mr Don Godson has been appointed to the board of Project Management Holdings, the project management and engineering company. Mr Godson, who completes his term as chief executive of CRH at the end of the year is also a director of AIB and a member of the board of UCD's Smurfit Graduate School of Business.

Mr Bill Higgins has been appointed non-executive chairman of Stafford Lynch, the grocery distributors. Mr Higgins was previously commercial director of Allegro.

Mr Liam Stafford has been appointed commercial director of Irish Fertilizers Industries. He previously held the position of group commercial manager.

Mr John Sharpe has been appointed sales & marketing director of Formus Communications Ireland, the Internet data services company.

Aer Rianta has appointed Mr Ray Kerr airport terminals manager at Dublin Airport. Mr Kerr will have responsibility for passenger and cargo terminal management and ground handling. He was previously head of operations with EasyJet.

Mr Joe Lyons has been appointed technical manager at the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland. He joins the institute from KSi Faulkner Orr Accountants where he was taxation manager.

Golden Vale has appointed Mr Tim Pegg managing director of food services for its Cheese and Spreads Division. He will be responsible for developing an independent food services team for the division. Mr Pegg joins Golden Vale from UB Frozen & Chilled Foods in Britain where he was general manager for the Food Services Division.
