Ireland.com has been shortlisted in four categories for the 2001 NetMedia European Journalism Online Awards. The web portal, which includes The Irish Times online as well as the daily breaking news service, has been nominated for best overall journalism service, sports and best use of mobile connectivity. Deputy sports editor Noel O'Reilly has been nominated for Internet journalist of the year for his coverage of the Paralympics in Sydney.
