The Minister for the Environment and Local Government, Mr Dempsey, has awarded grants to six projects under the public private partnership fund for local authorities.

Worth £580,000, the grants provide start-up funding for projects outside the principal investment programmes in the National Development Plan.

An additional £1.42 million will be awarded to other projects this year.
