NFL DIVISION THREE Westmeath 0-19 Offaly 2-11:WESTMEATH GAINED promotion to Division Two by virtue of a thrilling two-point victory in Cusack Park, Mullingar.

Westmeath led at the break by 0-12 to 1-6, with Offaly’s goal by Bernard Allen in the fifth minute being cancelled out by some great points by Paul Greville, Dessie Dolan and Denis Corroon.

After the break Westmeath extended their lead by 0-16 to 1-7. On 53 minutes, Allen scored his second goal of the game but Dolan replied with two points.

In a pulsating finish, Fergal Wilson pounced to secure Westmeath’s win.
