Fitzgibbon Cup/UL 0-17 DIT 0-11: DIT left Terenure with heads held high after putting it up to UL in yesterday's Fitzgibbon Cup first-round tie. The visitors had a wealth of talent in their side, notably Limerick's Niall Moran who was the game's top scorer with seven points.

But Limerick were slow out of the blocks and with 10 minutes to go in the first half trailed 0-6 to 0-3.

But having levelled it at 0-6 to 0-6 at half-time, they went out all guns blazing after the break. A huge point from Moran signified their intent and they scored seven unanswered points.

But for a fine save from goalkeeper Tadhg Flynn from Gerard Keogh's shot in the 50th minute, things might have been a lot more difficult for the Limerick side.

But despite the efforts of Tipperary's Kieran Bergin for DIT, UL were able to pull away once more with Offaly's Brian Carroll and Galway's Joe Gantley giving them some breathing space.
