GALWAY United head for Tallaght this evening in the hope of building on last week’s cup win in Ballybofey and ending a run of four league games without a victory. The Terryland Park outfit turned in a good display against Finn Harps with two goals by Vinny Faherty paving the way to a 3-0 win.
Rovers, however, promise to be a tougher assignment and manager Ian Foster admits his men will have to step thing up another gear tonight. .
After a somewhat more arduous week’s work in the cup, Rovers have a few injury worries ahead of the game, with Seán Webb (back) definitely out, while both Darragh Maguire (knee) and Pádraig Amond (medial ligament) are both rated very doubtful.
Galway’s Derek O’Brien is ruled out by a hamstring strain, while Seán Kelly and Shane Fitzgerald are struggling and will have to prove their fitness prior to kick off to be considered.
Rovers are now unbeaten in six in the league and a win tonight would keep Michael O’Neill’s men in touch with the leading group, while United need points to stay clear of things at the bottom.
