Row ends following apology

Peace has been restored to Irish women's lawn bowling

Peace has been restored to Irish women's lawn bowling. At yesterday's meeting of the Irish Women's Bowling Association in the Hilden Bowling Club in Lisburn, the IWBA accepted the apology of the Ladies Bowling League of Ireland for some inaccuracies in the recent letter to the Sports Council of Northern Ireland as well as the IWBA. The IWBA had threatened to expel the LBLI if an apology was not received. This was duly given at yesterday's meeting and the status quo was maintained. It is understood that the Sports Council was not happy with the IWBA's attitude.
