Garryowen prop Kieran Ronan has received a 12-week ban following his sending off in the All-Ireland League Division One semi-final against St Mary's at Dooradoyle last Saturday.

The AIL disciplinary committee handed out the punishment following a meeting at which Ronan was called to give evidence. Match referee David McHugh's report was also used to determine the seriousness of the offence. Ronan was dismissed for stamping on St Mary's flanker Trevor Brennan and will miss Saturday's final against Cork Constitution. The ban constitutes 12 actual playing weeks and therefore he will be sidelined until October.
