ALTHOUGH not ideally suited by the very testing underfoot conditions, Penndara made all the running to win the Thomastown Maiden Hurdle (Division Two) unchallenged at Gowran Park yesterday. Penndara, who formed the middle leg of an Aidan O'Brien treble, will shortly be sent chasing.

O'Brien had earlier won the opening division of the same event with Frances Street, like Penndara, an easy winner for Charlie Swan. Cloone Bridge completed a short priced treble under amateur rider, Barry Cash, in the concluding Clonegall flat race.

O'Brien said: "While Frances Street will now go handicapping, Penndara is a real chasing type and it will not be long before he goes over fences. Cloone Bridge is a nice horse and will now take a break for a few months and will jump hurdles on his return"

The champion trainer was also able to confirm that his Cheltenham and Aintree winner, Urubande, will definitely take his chance in the Lismullen Hurdle at Navan tomorrow.
