O'Brien has strong hand

Racing News:Authorized will face no more than 14 rivals in Sunday's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp following yesterday's supplementary stage.

As expected, Andre Fabre's Getaway was supplemented at a cost of €60,000, but the Aidan O'Brien-trained Song Of Hiawatha was a surprise addition.

The inclusion of that Sadler's Wells colt means the Ballydoyle trainer will still be able to choose from seven runners in the Paris feature after Yeats was the sole entry to drop out.

Song Of Hiawatha, last seen finishing a distant last behind stablemate Soldier Of Fortune in the Prix Niel, could be joined by his recent conqueror along with Dylan Thomas, Acapulco, Archipenko, Yellowstone and Red Rock Canyon.

Connections of Zambezi Sun have high hopes for the Grand Prix de Paris winner.

He is reported to be in top trim after his third place behind Soldier Of Fortune in the Prix Niel in September.

"He's well and has been in very good form," said Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager to owner Khalid Abdullah.

"He's pleased (trainer) Pascal Bary, as has been widely reported.

"Let's hope he can please all of us on Sunday."

Totesport make the supplemented Getaway a 33 to 1 shot and quote O'Brien's Song Of Hiawatha at 200 to 1.

Spokesman Damian Walker said: "O'Brien already had Red Rock Canyon, Yellowstone, Acapulco and Archipenko at his disposal to set the pace, but it looks as though Song Of Hiawatha will take up that role."

Harrington said: "He was very impressive last time and I think he deserves this chance.

"We're getting towards the end of the season and there aren't too many opportunities coming up so this just seems to have fallen into the right place."
