David McHugh is the only Irish referee to secure a Five Nations match appointment under the new, merit-based process introduced by the International Board. The Corkman will take charge of the Calcutta Cup match between England and Scotland on February 20th.

Three of Ireland's four Five Nations matches will be presided over by Southern Hemisphere referees.

February 6th: Ireland v France, Peter Marshall (Australia); Scotland v Wales Ed Morrison (England).

February 20th: Wales v Ireland, Scott Young (Australia); England v Scotland, David McHugh (Ireland).
