The home side were totally dominant in the opening 45 minutes but failed to find a way past a stubborn UCD defence. The visitors then took the lead after 47 minutes when Seβn Finn superbly vollied home Eoin Keating's cross.

In the 94th minute Stevie Gavin levelled, and in the seventh minute of extra-time Eric Lavine blasted the winner past UCD goalkeeper, Barry Ryan.
