Irish seniors shine at Shannon

Golf: Defending Champions Ireland booked their place in the top flight of the match play stages at the European Seniors' Team Championship at Shannon Golf Club today, following some superb golf from Arthur Pierse and Adrian Morrow.

Ireland finished in first place following the 36-hole strokeplay qualifying with a 29-over-par aggregate of 749 and now face fourth placed Germany in the semi finals. The victor will meet the winners of England and Scotland who meet in the other semi final.
