St Coleman's 2-12 Roscommon CBS 0-6:Two goals inside a minute – the first a penalty – killed off the challenge of Roscommon CBS as the students of St Colman's, Claremorris, advanced to the semi-final of the Connacht Colleges senior A football championship.

A bitterly cold Centre of Excellence, Ballyhaunis, was the venue for the first quarter-final yesterday and the player who lit up what was really a one-sided contest was last year’s Mayo minor captain, Adam Gallagher, who finished the game with 1-7.

The Mayo Gaels player nailed 0-6 of that in the first half to give his team a comfortable 0-10 to 0-3 interval lead.

Ten minutes into the second half, Gallagher stroked home a penalty and inside a minute he was instrumental in setting up his side’s second goal, which was well finished by Liam Noone.
