It wasn't so much the manner of it, but the victory itself which pleased Garryowen coach Philip Danaher after he watched his team demolish Dungannon on their own Stevenson Park sod.

Danaher wasn't getting carried away with this thumping 27 points success, but its importance was nonetheless not lost on him. "It was pleasing to score so many points, but in the end the two league points we gained was the important thing," he said. "I feel now that our objective of getting into the top four is achievable."

Danaher was delighted with the performance of number eight David Wallace, who showed the pace of a winger to go through for the try which gave Garryowen a 20-3 half-time lead. Earlier, Dungannon had completely lost their way after taking an early lead with an Ashley Blair penalty.

Garryowen full back Dominic Crotty joined the line for a sixth minute try and skipper Killian Keane turned the screw with two penalties.
