Tubbercurry Golf Club won the second pennant in the club's history when they beat Strandhill in the final of the Jack O'Sullivan Trophy last week. The club, founded in 1991, won its first pennant last year when taking home the Connacht Shield and followed up this year with a thrilling 6-4 win over Strandhill.

Trailing 3-2 after the first leg, Tubbercurry lost the top match, when Kevin Feehily and Eamonn Gallagher lost to David Lindsay and Des Timms, and were down in three of the four remaining matches at the turn. However, brilliant golf over the back nine saw Tubbercurry win all four games.

Harold McManus and Padraig McDonagh beat Mick O'Toole and Frank Conlon 5 and 4; Kieran Durcan and Tony Hession won the 15th against Noel Tivnan and Gerry Kilbride. Meanwhile, Charlie Scanlon and Tommie Clarke came from two down to beat Jim Branley and Tony Mannion while in the last match Fr Tom Collery and Ivan Maloney also came from two down to beat John O'Donoghue and Declan Rooney on the 16th.
