Sir, - I would like to congratulate John Waters on his column - "Two people leaping to their doom" (September 24th).
The article captured the world's horror as we watched these tragic people make what they must have known was a futile decision - to jump rather than to be burned alive. It also highlighted the victims' innocence, who, as they started their daily routine earlier that morning, could never have imagined that they were to be caught in one of the most horrible acts of our time.
The column serves as a moving and poignant tribute to the couple seen jumping, and to all those who died in the horror of September 11th, 2001. - Yours, etc.,
