Sir, - John Waters (December 15th) is upset about the advertising of children's toys on Irish TV. Things in Japan may be even worse.
There is an advertisement currently running here for some new wonder from Sony. A child throws a tantrum and himself on the ground outside a store saying "I want it! Buy it for me! Buy it for me!" The punch line is an old couple who observe the scene and comment admiringly on the kid's determination.
