Sir, – I find it absolutely ridiculous that someone would even entertain the idea of a home British & Irish Lions tour this summer (“Lions tour will not take place in Australia this summer”, March 6th).
The Lions is a touring side and if South Africa cannot host, then Australia or New Zealand should be our backup plans. A home tour will not just take away from the magic that is the Lions, no, it will do much more damage.
It will leave a bad taste in the mouth of any true rugby fan. I am not alone when I say let the boys play in Australia. Jouer á la carte. – Yours, etc,
