Sir, - It was heartening to hear the Taoiseach supporting the legitimate action by the US in self-defence under the UN Charter. Now we have taken our place among the nations of the world, I am sure he will do his utmost to ensure that UN Resolution 242 is enforced and that the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people to self-determination, national independence and sovereignty are reaffirmed in accordance with similar charters. - Yours, etc.,
