Madam, - While John Gormley's intention to abolish the two Seanad university constituencies (Nov 28th) is welcome, surely the elitist practice of allowing only third-level graduates to vote should have been abolished altogether. The undemocratic appointment structure of Seanad Éireann is an absolute disgrace and will remain so with the creation of the new six-seat constituency.
