A chara, - I read with great pleasure your article on the rejuvenation of Smithfield plaza (December 22nd).
You quote the words used by the architect Ms Siobhan Ni Eanaigh at the opening ceremony, followed by a reference to the original Irish name for this part of Dublin - Margadh na Feirme (the Farm Market).
Would this not have been an opportunity to restore the original name to this central part of Dublin rather than retaining an imperial import?
