Sir, – On Sunday my wife and I enjoyed a most excellent walk thought the Phoenix Park via the footpath which runs alongside the currently closed Chesterfield Avenue. What a pleasure it was to enjoy the experience without the constant din of car engines in our ears and exhaust fumes in our lungs. All this, while the usual weekend activities of the Park continued unimpeded, via alternate access routes for cars.
Might I suggest to the OPW that this could be a vision of the future, on Sundays, for the soon to be renovated Chesterfield Avenue? – Yours, etc,
