Sir, - As they motor through Phibsborough, travellers heading north out of Dublin on the Derry road have long been entertained by the sign "Bob's Pets". Yes, that's right, not Bob's Pets. (On the adjoining wall, it actually says "Bobby,s Pet Shop" but that's presumably because it's a longer wall). This fabulous display of wayward punctuation never fails to delight and enthral as one contemplates the journey ahead.

The citizens of Ashbourne have recently joined in the fun by putting up several posters in the town which proclaim "Ashbourne say's no dump here". I'm not sure what the-powers-that-be want to dump in Ashbourne, but I think there's definitely something in the water already.

Let's have even more of this type of thing in the North Dublin/Meath area. How about Sword's, or even Sword,s? - Yours, etc.,
