Sir, - Rev Michael Manning (October 1st) says: "If one genuinely believes that the [Roman] Catholic Church is Christ's Church subsisting on earth. . .one must do one's best to have all of one's children brought up in it." But if the Protestant partner genuinely believes that his/her church is more in line with New Testament teaching than is the RC Church, is it not his/her duty to have all the children brought up in the Protestant faith? It is easy to say that in the event of a disagreement the marriage should not take place - if one is not in love. - Yours, etc.,
