Sir, - It may interest philatelists and sailors here that Portugal recently issued a number of postage stamps to commemorate the voyage of discovery to India by Vasco da Gama in 1498. It was part of a series connected with EXPO 98, which had as its theme "the oceans".
One of the stamps, for 85 Escudos, was designed by Atelier Acacio Santos and featured our own Asgard in full sail and flying the Tricolour at the Regatta on the Tagus. - Yours, etc., Michael Moriarty,
