Sir, - D.N. Gallagher (January 26TH) is shocked at the litter in Belfield. Shock is too mild a word for my feelings as I walked along the River Dodder yesterday from Clonskeagh towards Bushy Park.
Along the banks of the river, and even high up among the trees, countless plastic bags, old clothes and rubbish of all sorts were to be seen. It is a sad and revolting sight.
I wonder has any public authority any intention of ever cleaning up our beautiful river? - Yours, etc.
