Detention of Brazilian tourist

Sir, – I find the sentiments expressed in Barry Hennessy’s letter (July 25th) very disturbing but am confident that his is a minority view.

I’m old enough to remember a Dublin which was drab with white and grey faces.

Now I celebrate the fact that we attract and welcome citizens from Brazil and other countries in South America and beyond. Many of them are fully integrated into society and enrich our lives and our culture. Long may it continue. – Yours, etc,
