Sir, - The behaviour of unionist politicians reminds me of childhood soccer games in a neighbour's garden. Whenever the visitors scored a goal to draw level in the match, there would be a shout of "offside" from the home team. If we protested, the neighbour would grab the ball, rush to the back door of his house, and exclaim: "It's my garden and it's my rules."
Needless to say, that scenario lasted only one summer. - Yours, etc.,
Dom Hackett, Windrush, Shankill, Co Dublin.
