Sir, – Your obituary of Austin Currie (November 13th) rightly acknowledges the significant political role that he played on both sides of the Border.
As well as the roles cited in the obituary regarding his time as minister of state in the Rainbow Coalition 1994-199, he undertook significant work in the area of special education at the Department of Education when I was minister for education.
