Madam, – By stashing one’s cash in a home safe, perhaps the public better understands how the banking system works than James Moran would have us believe (May 17th). While a collapse of the “Republic’s banks” may allow the contents of the safe to be used “as toilet paper”, I imagine it would also retain its value in euro-zone jurisdictions which are functioning? – Yours, etc,
