Sir, – Now that a UK general election has been called and Mary Lou McDonald hopes sometime in the future to lead her party into Government here, surely it’s time for Sinn Féin MPs to bite the bullet and enter Westminster. – Yours, etc,

Sir, – With the announcement of the UK election for July 4th, is it time for Sinn Féin to take their seats in the Westminster parliament after the election. Could they possibly seek to represent the interests of the people who elect them, and put aside the policy of 100-odd years which has little meaning to many Northern Ireland voters?
