Witnesses sought to vicious beating in Dublin

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man was viciously beaten by a gang of four men last Saturday morning.

The assault took place on the Malahide Road, near Donnycarney Church around 1 a.m. A 26 year old man was attacked by four men close to the Statoil filling station.

He tried to run away from the gang but they chased after him running in and out of traffic on the Malahide Road forcing a number of cars to swerve out of the way, gardaí said.

The man was viciously beaten and received serious facial injuries. He was treated for his injuries in Beaumont Hospital.

It is believed that the four culprits may have been accompanied by a woman who was wearing a denim jacket and jeans.
