Lee Westwood was today named the European tour's Asprey Golfer of the Month for September.
Westwood enjoyed a superb month in which he followed his win at the BMW International Open in Munich with another at the Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland.
The 30-year-old fired a 21-under-par total of 267 over St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns to beat world number two Ernie Els by one shot.
Additionally, to make the week extra special, he shot a course record of 62 at Kingsbarns, closing his round with the first albatross of his life.
Other candidates considered for the September award were Els, Retief Goosen and Vijay Singh.
