One US Marine was killed and several wounded today during fighting in the Iraqi town of Falluja, west of Baghdad, a US military spokesman said.
US troops battled insurgents for several hours in the town and an Iraqi cameraman and at least six civilians were killed in the clashes, according to hospital sources.
Another US Marine was killed and two wounded yesterday in an attack on their convoy east of Falluja.
The death today brought to 400 the number of US troops killed in action since the start of the US-led war in Iraq just over a year ago.
