Peter Canavan has doused any uncertainty regarding his retirement by stating he will continue to play for All-Ireland champions Tyrone in 2004.

The county skipper, who was plagued with injury towards the end of this year's campaign, had said it wasn't certain if he would lead the All-Ireland champions as they attempt retain the Sam Maguire next year.

"I intend to be back," said Canavan.  "There are just a few things to be sorted out, especially with regards to the ankle. I still don't know whether it needs an operation. I'll have to get it looked at and reassessed."
