Two men were today being treated for bullet wounds suffered during separate attacks in west Belfast.

A 17-year-old youth was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital after being shot in both legs and arms in a paramilitary-style attack, an RUC spokeswoman said.

He had been taken from his home by a gang of men to the rear of Aitnamona Crescent in Andersonstown, where the shooting occurred.

The second victim was also receiving treatment in the Royal Victoria Hospital for wounds to both legs.
