Two men are in hospital in Cork after a crash during a Garda pursuit this morning.
Gardai were chasing a car after a raid on a sports shop in the city. The men is understood to be in a serious condition.
A Garda spokesman said the window of a shop on McCurtain Street in Cork city was smashed at around 5.30 a.m. and a number of items taken.
The car in which the men were travelling hit a signpost near Richmond Hillon the northside of the city before careering in to a shop wall andoverturning.

The shop was completelydestroyed in the incident. The car in which the men were travelling wasembedded in the window of the premises.
Detectives are waiting to interview the injured men.
