The Millennium Dome has caught the imagination of many people and I have had a lot of enquiries about getting there

The Millennium Dome has caught the imagination of many people and I have had a lot of enquiries about getting there. Best deal has to be with Jersey European Airways who will fly you to London City Airport, two miles from the Dome on a Saturday morning, supply the entrance ticket and fly you back on Sunday for £99. This offers runs until the end of March. Details and bookings on 1890 925 532.

The Britain Travel Centre, at 18/19 College Green, Dublin 2, (01) 670 8000, will be selling vouchers for the Dome from mid-February. They cost £20 sterling for adults and £16.50 for children. A family ticket for two adults and three children costs £57.00. The Britain Travel Centre will also be able to advise on accommodation and transport in London.

While in London I can suggest a book to buy to encourage you to see the ghostly side of this old city. The Walking Haunted London guide by Richard Jones and published by New Holland takes you on 25 spine-chilling journeys through eerie and, in many cases, forgotten parts of the city and invites you to share - if you dare - in its haunted and mysterious past. You can get it from good bookstores.

A recently launched ski web-site may be of interest to Irish skiers. It will have a weekly weather outlook for the ski regions of Europe and North America and downloadable ski maps. It will also include latest offers from tour operators, equipment reviews and links to live webcams at 90 or so resorts. You can access it on www.snowpiste.com.

Skiing is great value this year because people have been booking so late. Ski McNeill have some availability to France from £199 and Andorra from £219 from Belfast, give them a call on (080) 01232 666699 or check out their website on www.skimcneill.com.

Aer Lingus are expanding their services to the United States again this year. Each week there will be 53 flights from Ireland to five gateway airports in the US, offering a wide choice of onward connections. Three new brochures from Aer Lingus will give you a good flavour of what you can expect. Combine your flight with accommodation in all cities served by Aer Lingus where they have good rates in a wide selection of hotels. The Winter Sun Holidays to California will make you want to put the Beach Boys on and get your surf board out. Take your pick from California beaches, Disneyland, San Diego, Las Vegas, Drive America or a coach tour. Brochures are available from your local ITAA travel agent or Aer Lingus outlets.
