Three teenagers were arrested after a fire on Saturday which caused extensive damage to the Kilbarrack Sailing Club in north Dublin.

The alarm was raised on Saturday afternoon and two fire engines fought the fire. However, serious damage was caused to the building, which had been used by the club for the past 70 years, according to club member, Mr Larry Dolan.

He said members were shocked by the fire but sailing would not be allowed to die in the area, he added.

Three juveniles have now been released and a file is being prepared for the juvenile liaison scheme, a Garda spokeswoman said.
