A 19-year-old man has died following a stabbing incident in Co Galway last night.
The man was stabbed during a fight which occurred in Hymany Park, Ballinasloe, at 11 p.m. He was taken to Portiuncula Hospital and later removed by ambulance to a Dublin Hospital. However, he died en route.
A 20-year-old man was arrested by and held in Ballinasloe Garda Station overnight. He was later released and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecution, a Garda spokesman said.
The dead man has not yet been named.
