Student remanded over Holohan killing

A 20-year-old student charged with the manslaughter of Midleton boy, Robert Holohan has been further remanded in custody.

A 20-year-old student charged with the manslaughter of Midleton boy, Robert Holohan has been further remanded in custody.

Wayne O'Donoghue, a structural engineering student at Cork Institute of Technology with an address at Ballyedmond, Midleton, is charged with the unlawful killing of the 11-year-old schoolboy on January 4th last.

Gardaí were last month given an extension of time to prepare the book of evidence.

Judge Michael Pattwell heard in Midleton District Court today there was a further delay in producing this book of evidence due to uncompleted forensic and technical tests.

Mr O'Donoghue was further remanded to appear in court on April 1 st.

Today was Mr O'Donoghue's fifth appearance in court since he was first charged on January 17th.
