Two men have died following a road crash at Ballysheehan stud in south Tipperary this morning.
The single-vehicle collision happened on the old N8 road shortly after 9.30am. The passenger (26) was pronounced dead at South Tipperary General Hospital in Clonmel shortly afterward, and the driver (35) was pronounced dead at 6.30pm tonight.
Elsewhere, two men have died and three women were injured following a crash between a car and a bus in Aughrim, Co Galway, last night.
Gardaí this evening named the two men who died as Pawel Pietraszczyk (32), of Bachelors Walk, Ashbourne, Co Meath, and Mark Forys (19), of the same address.
The driver of the car and front-seat passenger were killed when their car collided with the bus on the Loughrea to Ballinsloe road (N6) shortly after 7pm last night. Three other female passengers in the car were taken to Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe.
Neither the driver nor the passengers on the bus were injured.
The road has been reduced to one lane, and Garda Forensic Collision Investigators will examine the scene this morning.
A man has also died following a two-vehicle collision in Bruff, Co Limerick, yesterday.
Three men were brought to Limerick Regional Hospital after the van in which they were travelling hit a truck shortly after 6pm yesterday. One of the men (34), who was a passenger in the van, was pronounced dead earlier this evening.
Separately, gardaí are investigating an incident at Westbourne Park, Cork, yesterday in which a man was killed after the car he was attempting to push rolled and trapped him against a wall.
The man, who was in his early 20s, suffered serious injuries in the incident, which happened shortly before 5pm. He was taken to Cork University Hospital but was later pronounced dead.
