A second man has been charged in connection with the finding of the body of a Romanian man in a suitcase in the Royal Canal, Dublin, last month.
Mr Valentins Korelovs (24), from Latvia, was charged with assault causing harm to Mr Adrian Bestea at Strand Road, Sandymount, on July 8th. When charged, Mr Korelovs told gardai his real name was Semenuk Dimitro Vasilibech and indicated he wanted to be charged under that name.
Judge David Anderson remanded him in custody to appear at Clover Hill District Court on Friday morning. The court was told the Garda would be objecting to bail.
Mr Korelovs is the second man to be charged in connection with the murder of Mr Bestea.
