London - As the search for eight-year-old Sarah Payne continued yesterday, police in Sussex said the public had responded in huge numbers to the release of an e-fit picture of a man they want to question in connection with her disappearance, Rachel Donnelly reports from London.

The investigation team has received 4,000 calls since the e-fit was released on Tuesday and Assistant Chief Constable, Mr Nigel Yeo, said he had never experienced such a response.
