Saudi Arabia beheaded a man today for killing someone in a dispute to bring its number of executions this year to at least 42.

The execution was in a town near the capital, Riyadh. At least 75 people were executed last year and 121 in 2000.

Under the country's strict Muslim sharia law, Saudi Arabia executes murderers, rapists and drug smugglers, usually by public beheading.
