The April passenger numbers published today show 1,474,338 people flew with Ryanair; Internet sales accounted for 94 per cent of all bookings.

Ryanair includes all "earned seats" in its passenger figures. Earned seats include seats that are flown whether or not the passenger turns up because as Ryanair is a no-refund airline.

Load factor, which measures the number of seats sold as a percentage of the total available, was 79 per cent in April and 85 per cent in the past 12 months.
