Washington - The lack of preparedness of Russia's nuclear arms systems and infrastructure to handle potential year 2000 problems could threaten US national security, several US senators warned yesterday.
"It is in US national security interests to co-operate with the former Soviet Union to reduce the threats our country may face," the Republican senator Mr Richard Lugar told a special Senate committee on potential year 2000 problems.
