Rescuers in the Scottish Highlands have found wreckage from a second US F-15C warplane today, three days after two of the single-seat fighters and their pilots disappeared.
Civilian and military rescue teams have braved freezing temperatures, heavy snow, high winds and avalanches looking for the two airmen and their aircraft, which went missing on a low-flying exercise.
"We have found the tail part of the second aircraft some 400 yards from the wreckage of the first," said a Royal Air Force spokesman.
The wreckage from one of the aircraft and the body of one of the missing pilots were found on Tuesday.
